I loved my stay at the Phoenix! The staff were phenomenal, making me feel safe and comfortable. They were genuinely friendly and engaging, especially with my daughter, who usually feels shy around new people. The hotel's history and charm added so much to our experience. I liked the courtyard area with the pool. it had a nice vibe for relaxing. The room itself was clean and spacious, perfect for us. However, the neighborhood really let it down. I noticed a lot of homeless people and some unsettling situations while walking around. I didn't feel comfortable venturing out after dark, which impacted our time. The bathrooms were a bit small, but they had everything we needed. I wish the weather had been warmer so we could've enjoyed the pool more. Overall, the hotel itself felt remarkable, but the surrounding area needs more attention to make it truly fantastic.

great access to landmarks and parks for city strolls
I love how quickly I could walk to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which is just a little over a mile away, and exploring the beautiful gardens at the Golden Gate Park was such a highlight during my stay. both were perfect spots to soak in the city's vibrant atmosphere.

The staff made every effort to ensure a delightful experience, especially Orlando, who was exceptionally accommodating. The lounge area by the courtyard contributed to a relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind.
The coffee in the lobby could have been stronger.

First off the pool was just amazing like a little oasis in the middle of all the chaos and my kids loved it they practically lived in there the whole time we were and then there was this cool courtyard area with DJs playing music that really made us feel like we were part of something special and the staff including Orlando were super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome like we were old friends visiting again.
It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly but honestly it was worth it for the experience we had.

Comfortable stay with a heated pool and an inviting courtyard vibe. Our Standard 2 Queen Beds room had nice amenities like a flat-screen TV, toiletries, and a hairdryer. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was excellent. The hotel staff were super friendly and gave great local recommendations. Great location for exploring the city.

The beds felt incredibly comfortable, one of the best I've experienced. The heated pool was a fantastic touch. I loved having it all to myself since it was winter. Staff were friendly and helpful, truly made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Only issue was the surrounding area—it felt very sketchy, lots of drug use and people on the streets, which was uncomfortable. It's best to avoid walking around at night. The parking lot was easy to access and a good price, a good convenience in a city. Amenities were nice, but I wish there were microwaves or mini fridges in the rooms to make things easier.

The room was super comfy with nice beds and very clean. The pool vibes were great after walking around all day. I appreciated the little touches like bottled water. Overall, it felt like a little tropical getaway in the city. Just a bit of gum on the ground by the pool area was the only downside.
